Welcome to Lexia Reading, the breakthrough in reading education that provides a research-proven method for students to acquire foundational reading skills.
Welcome to Assessment Without Testing: the world’s only norm-referenced, embedded assessment—providing a prediction of student outcomes and prescriptions of intensity of instruction—all without interrupting the flow of instruction to administer a test.
Welcome to the Lexia Classroom where a system of differentiated practice, embedded assessment and targeted instruction ensures that teachers spend more time teaching, students spend more time learning, and where all students’ reading skills are improved.
Engaging activities keep students focused and enthusiastic.
Automatic branching provides appropriate practice for individual students.
Directions for using the activities are available in English and Spanish.
Easy-to-read reports provide teachers with invaluable information about students’ progress and skill development.
A powerful combination of methodology and motivation propels Lexia Early Reading students into independent practice in engaging, age-appropriate activities which introduce phonological principles and the alphabet, both proven predictors of reading success. more information..
Lexia Foundation Reading is a computer based supplemental reading program designed to help all students master basic reading skills. Through independent practice, students build speed and accuracy in the application of phonics skills. The program develops critical phonological reading skills to foster automatic word recognition while monitoring for meaning. The activities promote comprehension skills through the application of phonological strategies to single words, phrases, sentences, paragraphs and stories and emphasise listening skills and following directions. more information..
In response to the critical number of older students needing help with reading skills, Lexia developed Strategies for Older Students. The activities in Strategies for Older Students are specifically designed to remediate basic reading skills while offering age-appropriate content and interface. The focus of the activities helps students to increase automatic word recognition by reinforcing phonic elements and sound symbol relationship. Activities in SOS provide extensive practice in everything from basic phonological awareness to advanced word attack skills all in a supportive, age-appropriate format.. more information..

Lexia’s Assessment Without Testing technology is an embedded assessment system that provides educators with actionable, norm-referenced performance data without interrupting the flow of instruction to administer a test. Based on student skill level and rate of progress, the system predicts each student’s chance of reaching an end-of-year benchmark, and prescribes instructional intensity to improve performance on grade-level assessments. The system also delivers detailed, real-time reports on students’ specific skill deficits and recommends targeted instructional materials to accelerate skill development.
Performance Predictor:
Based on student skill level and rate of progress, the performance predictor indicates each student’s chance of reaching the end-of-year benchmark for his or her grade level. Calculated on a monthly basis, the performance predictor is a norm-referenced measure of risk of reading failure.
Prescription of Intensity:
Based on each student’s performance predictor, Lexia Reading prescribes the level of instructional intensity needed to increase the student’s probability of reaching the end-of-year benchmark. This monthly measure includes the number of minutes the student should use the software, as well as recommendations for targeted instruction.
Lexia Reading provides educators with actionable, assessment-quality data, allowing them to measure and analyze progress in real-time. The program’s embedded assessment technology provides granular, skill-specific data for every student, without ever having to administer a test. This approach reduces dependence on traditional reading tests and allows the reallocation of time and budget to support instruction more information..
